Lexi Thompson trains kids at golf clinic
Lexi Thompson, who finished tied for the 22nd at the Kraft Nabisco Championship 2012, is spending her time at golf clinic, helping kids learn the sport’s basics.
Thompson, a rising star on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour, is best known for training kids. She is in Florida these days and is enjoying helping kids learn to make putts and other basic techniques.
The American teen is running a programme dubbed “Tee Time with Lexi” at the Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale.
Thompson spent over 2 hours on the practice range. Speaking to the media about the clinic, she said that she is quite thrilled to be among kids.
The young star said that most of the players are great and they are learning the basics fast.
The clinic was held for young players who dream of learning to make a perfect swing from Well, Giving future fully opportunities to learn the sport, Thompson has been active making efforts to establish kids clinics.
The first session of Tee Time with Lexi was held a few weeks back, with the appearance of Thompson.
Analysts said that Thompson has been doing a great job, as she has become a role model for kids. They said that Thompson has not only made a name for herself in professional golf, but she has also grabbed golf fans’ attention as an instructor.
Although 17 years old, Thompson has recorded massive achievements in her pro career. She surprised the golf world when she became the youngest LPGA and LET winner.
The 2011 season was a momentous one for Thompson, as she racked up two titles on the LPGA Tour.
She grabbed the headlines in September 2011, when she won Navistar LPGA Classic. In December 2011, she clinched a stunning victory at the Dubai Ladies Masters.
In one of her interviews, the teen star said that she has a long way to go, but she is confident that she will find a spot in the top positions. She said that playing golf on an international level has given her so much confidence.
"I'm still learning so much every day out here," Thompson admitted. "But, I get to travel to places and do things that most people only dream about doing. I'm very lucky".
