Lexmark 1200 that will not install?

I have a lexmark 1200 all in 1 printer that will not install. I have tried using the cd provided but to no avail. I've also tried using a couple of sites using their suggestions to enable the dowload but still I've had no success. I also use an HP printer and I've never encountered any similar problems. Any help would be really appreciated, as I really don't know what to try next (:-

google for alternative driver sites.  there are some that specifically work with lexmark because lexmark tends to have crappy drivers.
