  1. Have you checked out the link to this problem on Lexmark's website?  I'm not sure if this is the cause, but it is a place to start  (sorry but the link takes you to the support page.  Choose your location and then do a search for your printer  and it is the last thing on the "support" area of "Top Documents":

    http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/...

If this does not fix the problem, then it would help to know if you are running the original OS (98 or XP) that came with the system or if you are running Vista.

-- Will watch for additional details and update then.

  2. Hello From the Computer Tech

Couple suggestions to check here.  When starting up the computer check in the Bios that the correct computer printer port setting is there.  There are only three types usually normal, bi directional and an older type try to change then settings and see what happens.  Maybe you have a wrong port type.  Secondly you could check the cable the odd time you could get a new cable that is no good right out of the package.

Also check the web site of both dell and lexmark for recent updates or newer drivers.

Hope this helps, have a gr8 day,

    NightHawk
