Lexmark z1480 wifi configuration

Question

i am having problems with my lexmark z1480 printer configuration. I can run through installation and all is well but my laptop cannot access the printer unless the usb cable is attached. I use AVAST instead of NORTON and have SecureVPN installed that I use for remote work. Why can't the wireless configuration for the printer find it. The printer shows on my 2wire wireless router and I am running XP
