  1. Your CD changer is made by Pioneer. The factory service manual doesn't list the meaning of the error codes.

Error codes address two groups of problems. Failure to read the CD, and mechanical problems.  When you insert the cartridge and shut the door, you should be able to hear the changer cycle through the CD trays, detecting which slots have CDs. If you take note of the direction that the CD label is facing when you insert it in the cartridge, you should be able to tell if the changer is spinning the CDs when it tries to play.

If the CDs spin, then you have a failure to read. This can be caused by a bad laser, but is most often a problem on the deck circuit board.

Oh, and make sure that tha CD label is facing down when you insert them in the cartridge.

Most repair shops no longer service this model. If you can find a real old technician, he may have forgotten that he doesn't work on these units anymore and fix it before he remembers.
