Lg chocolate 3 problem ( will pick a best answer)?

so i have the new lg chocolate 3 the flip phone one and it has the 3.5 mm headphone jack and i have 3.5 mm head phone jack like the one that comes with an ipod so i try to put it in and play the music on my phone and it doesn't go through the head phone jack so what do i do to make it work thank you

jsut use the headphones that came with the phone. they shouldn't be too shabby. and if u have an ipod already why do u need to play music on a phone also? just carry both or sell the ipod.
