Lg fridge freezer model gr-s352gca fault

freezer compartment does not make ice in tray but will freezee water in bottles left in there. makes funny noises every now and then (the frige) like an ice cube dropping or cracking sound, what could be the problem? also funny odour whenever opening fridge bottom door. some ice build up in vents in fridge compartment.
