Lgbt ans respectful others: what is your opinion on the DOMAs(defense of marriage acts)?

it basically an act that says a marriage is between a man and woman only, and that any same s*x marriage license should be recognized in another state other than the one where they were allowed to marry.

what is your opinion on them and what is your argument against them/ or for them? like basically explain if you support them or not and why that is.

i think its straight up bs. a marriage should be between any two lovers, regardless of s*x. love is love. it does not see gender. so neither should marriage.haha.

It's all a question of the meaning of the words.  "Marriage" has traditionally meant a heterosexual union, and it is too useful a word to stretch to homosexual unions.  I have absolutely no objection to civil unions, which would legally do for the partners the things that a marriage does for heterosexual partners.

oh the discrimination in marriage act?it sucks.marriage is a legal institution not a religious one.the point of a legal marriage is to share resources and rights.all the c**p some people say about g*y marriage is the same b.s.they used to say about interracial marriage.it's based on fear and ignorance.if someone has a problem with what other people do that has nothing to do with them,well, then that's their problem.they need to get over it or at least keep it to themselves.we need all the love we can spread.

I think marriage should depend on love and only love...it shouldnt matter whether your partner is the same s*x!!

And also if we want equality of rights then this is just one of the things that is stopping us from achieving this.
