Let's take it one step at a time and actually get a woman in office.  It shouldn't matter but I would say it's a very long time coming.  Look at the response to g*y marriage...and same s*x adoption is still banned in how many states...in a country with this much hatred towards the LGBT community, electing a President or VP that's "one of us" is unlikely for a looong time....

I honestly don't think it would happen unless the president or vp were in the closet at the time of election.  The county as a whole is semi accepting but not that accepting.  I hope to have one some day though.

If you mean an out LGBT then I believe it will be some years. The Religious organizations in the States are far too powerful at the moment. I did read on line where it was alleged that at least one President of the USA was bi-sexual but not out.
