Li Han tames Ratchanok in Women’s Singles pre-quarter-final at Badminton Asia Championships
China’s emerging female shuttler Li Han showed that her previous victories were not a fluke as she thrashed the higher ranked Inthanon Ratchanok in Women’s Singles pre-quarter-final fight at Badminton Asia Championships 2012 in China, on Thursday, April 19.
Han, who has been playing tremendous badminton for the last couple of months and have defeated many top shuttlers, again showed that she has got the skills required to become world beaters.
Han was impressive against in the court as she played with precision and thrashed Inthanon who is currently World Number 10 and eighth seed in the tournament.
The Chinese lady spared no chance for her higher ranked Thai opponent to show a strong resistance and wrapped up the contest in an inspiring fashion.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Inthanon was shocked with the cruel treatment she received in the court from her opponent who played attacking badminton in the entire contest.
The eighth seeded Thai lady crashed out at the round-of-16 match without creating any trouble for her lower ranked Chinese contestant.
Han started her campaign in a striking fashion as she played with superb confidence and employed her impressive skills to tame her opponent.
The Chinese remained ahead in all areas of the court and remained positive in her execution of strokes. She was ahead of Inthanon until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Han did not let her opponent to take the bird early by playing with variations and grabbed the opening game with a tremendous margin of 21-13.
In the second game, Inthanon tried to play fast game in opening rallies and remained equal to her Chinese opponent on the board.
However, Han changed her game plan and started to control the bird at net. She manipulated all loopholes of her opponent and took a superb lead until the break.
After the interval, Han was in commanding positive as she dictated Inthanon in all corners of the court and ended the set with a margin of 21-15.
Han wrapped up victory against Inthanon with an overall 21-13 and 21-15 score on the board.
