Li Na talks about her recently published book – Tennis News
Chinese number one, Li Na, has been tremendous on the tennis courts and decided to exhibit her skills in the field of writing as well. The former French Open winner published her autobiography for her fans, narrating her success
story since the start of her career and her struggle in becoming China’s number one tennis professional. She gave a detailed count of her troubled family life and her marriage with her husband Jiang Shan.
Talking to the media, Li said, “I hope my story can inspire people of all ages. I must handle the pressure coming from the expectations of more than a billion people back home in China, and it was very hard. After Carlos came to
my team, the change was unbelievable. I was happy to have him because I think he is a positive person and gives a lot of positive things for all the team. He makes me train a little bit for strength in the mind, not only for tennis. I really wish to work with
him next year.”
The Chinese contender took an early retirement as she had to complete her educational degree and was completely out of touch from tennis. She returned to competitive tennis after the completion of her education and since then she
managed to face all the pressure with great strength.
The 30-year-old contestant was the finalist of the Apia International held at the hard courts of Sydney earlier this year. In the final round, she had to face a tough combat at the hands of the reigning world number one, Victoria
Azarenka. In the Australian Open, she made it until the fourth round but had to face a surprising shocker at the hands of Kim Clijsters.
The right-hander qualifier until the fourth round at the French Open held at the clay courts of Paris. Her performance declined in the All England Lawn Tennis Club and faced an unexpected defeat in the earlier rounds. Towards the
ending tournaments of the 2012, her pace started to build up. The world number seven, Li, was the semi-finalist of the China Open held at the hard courts of Beijing.
The Chinese professional’s performance has drastically improved under the supervision of her new coach, Carlos Rodriguez. Despite of her increasing age, she plays with extreme grace and is always ready to beat all the over powering
odds.
