Li Ning China Masters 2012: Chen Long tames Misha Zilberman to ease into Men’s Singles quarter-final
China’s in-form shuttler Chen Long stretches his roller-coaster winning streak and eased into Men’s Singles quarter-final after proving his superiority on court in round-of-16 clash when he punished Israel’s Misha Zilberman at the Li Ning China Masters 2012
on Thursday, September 13, at Changzhou, China.
The top seeded Long, who has been placed at number three in Men’s Singles world ranking, lived up to the expectations of his home fans as he unleashed his tremendous skills from the opening points of the contest and easily won in a completely controlled
way.
Chinese shuttler was impressive in his attacking and positive play as he did not miss any chance to maintain a wonderful pressure on his un-seeded challenger and easily wrapped up victory with a crushing margin by spending just 34 minutes.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Zilberman played to his maximum potential but failed to show his craft against his top seeded Chinese opponent and became a prey for him without showing even a meagre resistance on court.
The starting set of this pre-quarter-final battle was absolutely one-sided as Long played with control and aggression and he did not consume much time in setting up an early lead on score board.
Chinese shuttler was in tremendous form as he played at his best and took a spectacular lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, the higher ranked Chinese continued his impressive run as he played at the same speed and easily wrapped up the opening set with a one-sided 21-13 score on the board.
It was a nightmare for Zilberman in the second game as he did not expect to get such a punishing treatment.
Chinese crowd could not have asked for better game as the local hero put up staggering show and took a stunning lead until the break.
After the break, Long continued punishing Zilberman without facing any trouble and he remained successful in winding up the game with an unbelievable margin of 21-3.
The incredible Long easily thrashed Zilberman in straight sets in just 34 minutes with a huge 21-13 and 21-3 score on the board.
