Li Ning China Masters: Huan Gao crushes Sattawat Pongnairat in Men’s Singles qualifying round
China’s emerging shuttler Huan Gao showed his tremendous skills and cheered his home fans by playing at his best speed and thrashed Sattawat Pongnairat of USA in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Li Ning China Masters Super Series 2012 on Tuesday, September
11, in China.
The impressive Huan, who was incredible in his speed and control of rallies, played to his maximum potential and remained successful in taming Sattawat in a spectacular fashion by taking 39 minutes on court.
Huan showed his hunger for victory on court as he played in a spirited fashion by dictating the pace of rallies all the way to finish off the contest in a completely commanding manner with a huge margin on score board.
The USA shuttler, in the meanwhile, was shocked with the punishing treatment he received from his rival and remained unable to put up strong show and lost the set without creating a strong impact on the crowd.
The Chinese shuttler was in a different mood on court as he played with confidence and remained in strong position on score board at the opening stage.
The lower ranked Sattawat played quivering game as he could not focus on court and remained struggling to produce better form against his local rival.
Backed by the huge home support, Huan showed a spirited display and took a stunning lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the Chinese shuttler continued showing his elevated play without losing his focus and he grabbed the first game with a crushing 21-12 score on the board.
In the second set, the USA player tried to play positive game but failed to match the speed of Huan who was in tremendous form. Until the mid-game break, the Chinese player was miles ahead on score board.
After the break, Huan did not show any sign of dropping down his speed at any stage and remained successful in throwing out his rival in an authoritative manner by bagging the second set with a killing margin of 21-10.
Huan emerged as the winner in this qualifying round clash in straight sets with a spectacular 21-12 and 21-10 score on the board.
