Li Ning China Open 2012: Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang (F) easily penetrate into Women’s Doubles final
Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang (F), the most experienced shuttlers from China, easily stormed into Women’s Doubles final after slaughtering Thailand’s Narissapat Lam and Saralee Thoungthongkam in semi-final battle at Li Ning China Open 2012 on Saturday, November
17, in Shanghai.
The World Number Three Xiaoli and Yang, who are second seeded shuttlers in Women’s Doubles main draw of the tournament, played with precision and managed to end up the winning run of Narissapat and Saralee in just 26 minutes.
Xiaoli and Yang were in no mood to spare any mercy to their lower ranked Thai opponents as they played with control and speed in all areas of the court and managed to win the battle in straight sets with a crushing margin.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Narissapat and Saralee showed aggression in the arena but they failed to shake the impressive defence of their higher ranked local challengers and lost to them rather easily.
Xiaoli and Yang showed their incredible aggression on court from the initial rallies of first set and they remained successful in taking a wonderful lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, Xiaoli and Yang progressed with a superb speed in the starting part and remained in lead on score board until the interval.
In the meanwhile, Narissapat and Saralee tried to put up strong resistance but could not take control of rallies and remained struggling to find a good rhythm.
Xiaoli and Yang were consistent in executing powerful shots in targeted areas and they easily grabbed the first set with an inspiring score of 21-9.
In the second game of this semi-final clash, Xiaoli and Yang showed a killing performance as they did not spare any mercy to their lower ranked opponent and set up a huge lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, Xiaoli and Yang continued crushing their challengers without losing their focus on court and bagged the second game with a ruthless margin of 21-4.
The higher ranked Xiaoli and Yang easily managed to end up this one-sided semi-final clash with a staggering 21-9 and 21-4 score on the board.
