Lia Neal captures Women’s 200m freestyle crown at 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals
Day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals got off to a strong start with the impressive swim of Lia Neal in Paloalto, California, on Thursday, August 11. The session of the meet conducted Women’s and Men’s 200m freestyle and Women’s
and Men’s 100m breast-stroke finals, respectively.
Lia Neal of Asphalt Green took home the Women’s 200m freestyle title on the podium by posting a winning time of 1 minute and 58.26 seconds. In the corresponding meet, Quinn Carrozza of Una Ntro earned silver medal by submitting an impressive time of 1 minute
and 59.19 seconds.
Julia Anderson of Fort Worth Area picked bronze title with a sterling mark of 1 minute and 59.57 seconds. Kathle Ledecky of Curl Burke Swim was placed fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 00.79 seconds, whereas, Laure Driscoll of Team Fla settled for fifth
spot in 2 minutes and 01.81 seconds.
Then, the Men’s 200m freestyle title was taken over by Nicholas Alexiou of Clearwater Aquat with a winning mark of 1 minute and 50.34 seconds. Matias Koski of Dynamo Swim Club earned silver title with a time of 1 minute and 50.54 seconds, while Cannon Clifton
of Magnolia Aquatic snared bronze medal with a matchless time of 1 minute and 51.91 seconds.
In the corresponding swim, Jack Lane of Dynamo Swim Club was placed fourth in a time of 1 minute and 52.93 seconds and Grant Koudelka of Champion Aquatic finished fifth in a time of 1 minute and 53.14 seconds.
In the Women’s 100m breast-stroke final heat, Jasmine Tosky earned golden crown on the podium by posting a winning time of 1 minute and 10.24 seconds. Meanwhile, Sama Pochowski of Southwest Aquati picked silver title in a time of 1 minute and 10.59 seconds
and Katharine Ross of Central Iowa grabbed bronze medal with a mark of 1 minute and 10.78 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the Men’s 100m breast-stroke crown was taken over by Charles Katis with a victorious time of 1 minute and 03.31 seconds. Daniel Le of Blue Devil Swim earned silver medal with a winning time of 1 minute and 03.76 seconds, whereas,
Connor Dwyer of Longmont Swim Cl snared bronze title with a mark of 1 minute and 04.08 seconds.
The arena applauded for the scintillating splash of swimmers, while the winners were awarded accolades after the session’s completion.
