  1. Liang Teh / Liang Cha means cooling tea or Chinese herbal tea, but it's not really tea (ie not brewed with tea leaves). In the old days, many families had their own family recipes for liang teh, drunk during hot weather and to help relieve ailments like fevers & sore throats where it was believed to be due to too much 'heatiness' in the body.

    Some commonly used & possible ingredients include Luo Han Guo (Fructus Momordicae), chrysanthemum, ginseng, honey, dried longans, honeysuckle flower, licorice and certain Chinese medicinal herbs with 'cooling' properties.


  2. I think it is just tea. 'Liang" is just the type of the tea.
