Liberal arts degree at a 3rd tier university: prospects?

If you complete an undergraduate degree (B.S) with a double major in political science (with international relations emphasis) and spanish with a minor in economics what are the chances of getting a good job? I'm not interested in going to law school. I'm just wondering what opportunities may or may not be there having graduated from a 3rd tier university. What things would be beneficial to improve my prospects in the job market? Thanks.

  1. Of course it's harder to land a good job if you come from a third tier university instead of a first (or even second) tier. So this just means you need to work harder and do more. Get the best grades possible. Get involved in some clubs at school, and try to get a leadership position in those clubs (President, VP, Secretary, etc.) And it is very important to intern--if you have a good internship, you are more likely to get a better job, especially if it is a prestigious internship. You can usually apply to those your junior year, to intern the summer before your senior year, but some companies accept interns who will be going in to their junior year.
