  1. Don’t try to be so smug

Many things can be represented as cosmic duality; the question is moot with no correct answer. You are looking for a conversation not an answer!

  2. Does it matter which is which? If they're really expressions of the cosmic duality then the factor that matters most is that they're in an eternal state of productive conflict.

    Nice idea though.

  3. Regarding political and military controversies of their day, Jesus’ disciples maintained strict neutrality. In the year 66 C.E. the Jews of the Roman province of Judea revolted against Caesar. The Roman army quickly surrounded Jerusalem. What did Christians in the city do? They remembered Jesus’ counsel to stay neutral and to get out from between the warring armies. When the Roman army temporarily withdrew, the Christians seized the opportunity and fled across the Jordan River into the mountainous region of Pella. (Luke 21:20-24) In their neutrality they served as a faithful pattern for later Christians.

Christians should not meddle in politics, no matter what the country in which they live. They do not interfere with what others do as to joining a political party, running for office or voting in elections. But, since Jesus said that his disciples would be “no part of the world,” True christians take no part whatsoever in political activities.

    respectfully,

    Simone

  4. I thought the whole point of "cosmic" duality was the fact that it actually represents a unity.  Or as Woody Guthrie puts it, "Ya cain't have a light without a dark to stick it in."

    As for more worldly dualities, head/tails, mind/body, up/down, black/white, well...dare I say, flip a coin?

  5. Hm.  Could be why I don't identify with either one, because I don't see the world in black and white or dark and light.  I'm mixture of all of the above.

  6. yuck.. politics

  7. Just compare 2008 America with 1808 America.

  8. I really see that you cannot put Liberalism or conservatism in the light or dark expressions of cosmic duality because of this simple ideal.

What today is considered to be liberal or even radical may 20 or 30 years down the road may be the norm of the society.

What is considered conservative may be called lazy or situated in their thinking.

I bet when Jesus came to preach his gospel, very liberal and progressive. people would be lining up calling him a radical and dark!

Same way Martin Luther King was in this country ( U.S.)

    Now it's the norm.

I see many conservatives unwilling to move forward in their thought progress and consider anything out of the norm to be from the devil.

I do believe this though their are many liberal christians that act in their belief in GOD and are great people and there are some that reneed to think about calling themselves Christians.

Same as for conservatives! I find  peoples actions and not so much words put them into the cosmic duality you speak.

How can their be light (good) without dark (evil.

To answer this you must find out the base in which you decide evil from good. And for me that base is Jesus.

I consider myself a consertvative but 2000 years ago I would have been killed for my liberal beliefs!

  9. No, but this is a great example of the human tendency to aggrandize their puny affairs way beyond their actual level of importance, actually having the nerve to claim that their petty social squabbles are of cosmic significance.
