Question:

Liberals: Why are you so angry?

Who would have ever thought that you would be so offended about the fact that Palin's daughter is pregnant? Aren't you the ones who snicker at people who believe in abstinence and more than likely give most pregnant, unmarried women a free pass? What gives? Are you just upset that the only things that you can complain about are Bristol Palin and the fact that John McCain forgot how many houses he owns? Do you think that you're terribly clever for being able to accuse Sarah Palin of hypocrisy, although she had no control in the decision that her daughter made?

Through all of the times that you have accused the right of always whining, perhaps now you should look at yourselves. What excuse do you have for this blasphemous treatment of that girl?

  1. I'm not angry.  The angry rants are being written by conservatives.

"blasphemous"? Is Bristol Palin holy?  Who knew.

  2. Families should be off limits.

But we do need to look at what Sarah Palin has done here.

Firstly, with 5 kids to look after, and a working husband, she has chosen to take up a demanding political career above the needs of her own family. Looking after 5 kids is not easy - she's stretching herself in too many directions. Something will go wrong.

Secondly, in recently accepting the VP offer from McCain, she has chosen to put her young pregnant daughter under the media spotlight, preferring to further her own career. If she had ambitions, she should have deferred them for her daughter's sake.

Thirdly, many Republicans are going to be deeply embarrassed by this. They have worked hard, tirelessly, to promote Republican values, and within a couple days she's got problems to share (I bet I know what Bush thinks of her).

Finally, many women choose not to have children so they can dedicate themselves to their career. Fine. But Palin is trying to have both – a family of five children  -  and a demanding career.

She’s stretched in too many directions.

Palin has brought this issue on herself and the Republican party.

    Family commitments come first.

  3. Wrong word.  We are OUTRAGED that the Republicans, after George W. Bush, would think so low of this country to nominate someone like Palin JUST for political hack reasons.  Most of the country is outraged too.  Just wait and see.

  4. Liberals, or free-minded people are angry about a number of issues, not just this one.  However, I don't feel people are angry about this, so much as they see it as the hypocrisy of the right as they are now championing this girl for keeping her baby, whereas if it was Jamie Lynn Spears or even someone of Democratic leaning they would have lambasted the child.  In this case they are willing to overlook it because she's one of them and they want to win the election at any costs.  They are also angry because it is once again an example of how religion has ruled people on the right (who stole it from the original Republicans who were about small government, fiscal responsibility, personal freedom and not abortion, creationism, etc) and prevents America from keeping up with the rest of the world and instead follow backwater reasoning behind slowing or reversing scientific and technological advance which would help our nation be stronger and perhaps make our young people smarter and safer.

We are also disgusted that American freedoms, technological advancement, and traditional values (like having a fair tax system which does not simply reward those who are wealthy and in power - not homo-hating) have been trampled on for the last eight years and people seem to be blinding following a corrupt government lead by the intellectually un-curious George Bush who has lead us by ideology and those willing to put country second and profit first.

As a side note, do you even know what blasphemy is?  Use a dictionary and find out.

  5. It happens to anger me when people go around telling me how to raise my kids when they so clearly cannot do it themselves.

And a woman who has 5 kids and wants to be VP...as if there is not ENOUGH pressure on women to be SuperMoms already. Work and kids...d**n, it's hard enough with my puny job and 1 kid.

I'm angry because despite the glaring problem that her daughter is pregnant, and unwed, and underage, and apparently loves alcohol, that Palin's nomination is supposed to appease the RIGHT of the party.  Hypocrisy.  Sure, if you're rich and white, and you marry your baby daddy, and keep yo' baby (but no food stamps), then the right doesn't care about pre-marital s*x?  It's conditional?

Lastly, I think it is unfair to nominate an inexperienced woman because one thinks her XX chromosomes will get her votes.  It's naive and insulting.

I DO AGREE that people calling her daughter a w***e, etc, is out of line.  She's a kid after all. .

    A kid having a kid.

  6. You would probably be the first to rail against Chelsea Clinton if she became pregnant out of wedlock

you and all you right wingers would be wailing

its because of her immoral parents

BUT now that the shoe is on the other foot

you folks are condoning teen aged unmarried pregnancies?

    typical GOP two faced c**p

  7. I am a liberal and I am not angry at all.  All of this "tempest in a tea pot" about Gov. Palin is just what goes around comes around.  Right back at ya!

  8. I don't care that she's pregnant. I'm happy she CHOOSE to keep the child.

I'm upset that Palin is against teaching prevention even though it probably would have worked. I'm sure we can all agree that it was never Palin's daughter's plan to get pregnant.

  9. We aren't angry that a teenage girl got pregnant.  We're angry that Republicans still insist on abstinence-only s*x education despite the fact that even their vice president candidate can't implement it in her own household.  This isn't blasphemous whining; it is accurate criticism.

Can't conservatives face criticism without accusing their accusers?  Don't conservatives have a defensible position for their views?

  10. Nobody cares about Palin and her family. What is important is that the person who is running for VP office is a completely ignorant  idiot for position. Palin could not even grasp the real scope of VP job, less running a VP office. Her mentality is forever locked in a 'hockey mom' image. Period.

  11. Your stereotyping an argument that doesn't really exist. I'll tell you if I start stomping my foot at other peoples problems.

  12. the Republicans are the part of "keep it in your pants" and keep s*x ed out of schools...

you can't take that line and then just expect a free pass when your own kids can't do it...

it's not the girl... it's the party policy and the joke that it is.... this happens every day to many girls... and always has....

this just is an illustration of how flawed Republican policies are... few are upset about the girl, only laughing at the excellent example of Republican policy failure yet again...

and why is it when other kids get pregnant, cons blame the parents... but oh, "Palin has no control".... the double standards... are just laughable...

  13. It's all proof that they are not really the "compassionate" party they claim to be. Instead, they must ridicule her and her mother because of she is taking responsibility for her actions and will keep the baby, and (gasp!) marry the father.

  14. Who is angry ? We are not.

  15. Not angry here. I prefer not to talk about the issue.

  16. Not angry, but do think it is a great jumping off point for a discussion about abstienence only s*x ed.

  17. Kids should be off limits but if conservatives are going to have a comment on Britney's sister they should be able to handle these comments.  Be careful what you decide to criticize who ever you are.

  18. I don't think that "angry" is really the right word.

What were you honestly expecting? For the left to be kind and supportive about it? Of course not. This was the perfect opportunity to pounce on the Republicans and attack both McCain and Palin. They're just taking advantage of what they have...just like conservatives did with Obama not long ago. It just goes around in a circle....people will always be divided.

  19. It's not whining.  You treat it like it's whining because you don't want to address the issue here.  It's not about Bristol.  h**l, it's not even a question about whether Sarah is a good mother to her or not.  It's about the double standard that exists here.  She can say she's a family values candidate, and then releases this sort of information.  It's not valuing family to bring a situation like this so far into the limelight.  Rather than simply keeping the politics of it down to the state level, she decided to take on the job of VP and have the knowledge that her daughter is pregnant become national news.  Beyond that, Sarah Palin has spoken thoroughly in the past about not liking the prospect of s*x ed courses in schools.  While I don't question her or her family's personal choices, I would say that to allow that sort of situation to occur in other families without any system in place to prevent it is morally reprehensible.

  20. No anger. Could care less. There is so much more dirt to be had on Palin. For the rest. It is the hypocrisy that have them annoyed.

  21. I am not angry.

I have no desire to bring the daughter into the political discussion.

The right wing does nothing but whine as your question shows.

I'll make a deal. Let's focus on the issues and leave the daughter out of the discussion, as well as Michelle. Okay?

  22. I'm angry because we're out of Skittles and Sarah Palin lied about having her daughters baby 4 months ago.

  23. If it were not so important to you, you would not be bringing the topic up now would you?  Give it a break.  The kid got knocked up, big f'ken deal, she also drinks, again big f'ken deal.   John owns zero houses, his rich wife Cindy owns them.  Hey any "responsible" parent, should have taken the time to sit down with a daughter when she starts to menstruate and explain the facts of life, along with the birds and the bees.  Apparently she did neither, or daughter chose not to listen.
