Liberals want energy independants?

The left argue that we create war to secure our interest in oil and other similar arguments. Right or wrong, they should be fighting for obtaining our own oil in our backyard so we can then stop meddling with foreign oil supplies. What do you think?

  1. If you are independence why be sorry all people have good ideas it is the person not liberals rep. deco and so on and we should be working to keep our oil here in the state not buying everyone Else and keep our money here to support the people here at home in the usa

  2. I would venture an educated guess that those who espouse the we create war theory have not spent any amount of time critically thinking through their stance on the matter.  Consider this:  Bush 43 lifted the executive ban on drilling.  Nice gesture but isn't very effective, he also needs to lower the EPA standards that have been excessively prohibitive toward constructing new refineries.  Who is responsible for the ban and the EPA then?  Congress.  Pelosi, Reid and company have done absolutely nothing towards their end.  Why?  Could it be that Jimmy Carter used the EPA standards (that he raised) as a bargaining chip to get his Camp David Peace Accord with Israel and Egypt?  Egypt and her neighbors were all sworn to the total destruction of Israel, yet no one (save Hezbollah in Lebanon) has since made a move.  Why is that?  Could it be that Carter promised OPEC U.S. business in the way of dependency for decades to come?  Why then did Pelosi, Kerry and Nelson go to Syria and is Obama and company so eager to "talk" with Iran?  When Carter raised those EPA standards, there were over 600 refineries in operation.  Now, we are down to less than 200 with no new constuction planned anywhere.  What have the Democrats to say about this?  Ball's in their court.
