Liberals??? you think executing child rapists is inhumanly cruel??

I heard in the news that liberals voted against executing child rapists because its "inhummanly cruel".

so you liberals think that raping a child is not more than inhumanly cruel?? whats wrong with this world?

what are you liberals trying to prove?? how would you feel if your own child was raped??

Personally I would Kill anyone who hurts my child in any possible way...

but Im in shock! SHAME ON YOU!

Think about it; you "liberals" are all for the human rights and all that.. but one thing you dont consider is what the child is going to grow up to be.. these kids are going to grow up holding vengeance towards you.. and I will personally support their actions towards every liberal in this self-destructing world..

I do not approve of anyone harming children and I not only agree that raping a child is more than inhumanly cruel, I think raping ANYONE is inhumanly cruel. I am against executing ANYONE because our system of justice, while good, is not perfect and subject to error. Evidence gets lost or not entered. People make false statements. The accused is tried by jury of twelve peers, all human beings capable of making mistakes. Death is forever. If it is discovered years after a person is executed that a mistake was made, it's not like you can give them their life back.

I am an SFC in the army. and I pay my taxes. I find it unfair when I put my life countless times on the line while Liberals were sabotaging what me and thousands of other soldiers are trying to create..

NO just not as cruel as life in prison wishing everyday you die with no hope of escape as your life becomes a shell of whats around you...also its much easier on the convicted family (who done nothing wrong sometimes)

Don't let your emotions run away with you, Natasha.  We all hate child rapists.

We had this same discussion back in the 1960s and 70s.  Many states had the death penalty for rape, but they finally realized that if rape had a death penalty the rapist didn't have any reason to leave his victim alive.  For killing her there is no extra punishment, but it makes it less likely he'll get convicted without her testimony.

So the death penalty for rape was done away with, I believe on a state-by-state basis.

You see, liberals claim to care about law and order and justice, but they themselves are into so many perverse things that they would rather see punishments as lenient because they themselves, deep in their hearts, know that they, too, desire to do dirty deeds.

It's going to be hard to answer you when you don't even know the details of the story you're discussing.

What you're thinking of is a Supreme Court decision.  The Court voted 5-4 that it is unconstitutional to execute someone for a crime not involving the death of the victim.  I don't know why you're blaming this on "liberals," unless of course that's just your catch-phrase for "things I don't understand."

It's understandable that YOU would want to kill someone who hurt your child in any way.  But we're not talking about you, we're talking about the state.  Do your own dirty work if you're so moved, and then bear the consequences.

FYI, Im assuming your a conservative and since you guys seem to care about money so much did you know that life in prison costs less then a death sentence? Do you know how prisioners, murders included(especially) feel about child rapists? Many of them are fathers/mothers themselves and though they did do something bad, they still love that kid and it disgust them what this person has done to another. Child rapists do not last in prison. If anything, it is still a death sentence but a cheaper, more barbaric and more deserving one.

I agree with you , its silly , how come they can let some sick person who rape a child or even a girl or anyone, to go for prison and live as nothing happened, and maybe he will do the same for young prisoners there ,

I was saddened to hear the decision the Court made, and the ground they based thier decision on. That being its is considered cruel and inhuman to punish by death. But what about the rights of the child. Does anyone ever consider what that child went through? The fact that an unspeakable act was done to them. One of which they have no idea what it represents. when you take a full grown 200 lb. man and he rapes a 45 lb. 6 year old, the physical damage is that is done to them is more then an animal should have to endures.

I think we as a society are to blame for allowing sick minded criminals to have rights they now have. The Courts speak what we influence them to decide. We should be the ones apologizing to all the young child rape victums. Think about that the next time you hear a young child laugh, or tuck your own child into bed at night, and tell then to sleep tight.

It's all about justice, and what is an appropriate punishment for child rape.

If YOU had a child that is 2-year old and is repeatedly rape by a man, what would you think is the correct punishment?

How can ANYBODY that has had children NOT want death to a person who would do this to his/her child?

Actually, 7 of the 9 judges on the Supreme Court were nominated by CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS.  Only 2 were nominated by Democrats.  

Obama said that he is opposed to the ruling.

If you want to bash liberal democrats for something that Republicans are responsible for, fine.  It looks like there are a lot of True Believers answering to agree with you.

But if you want to tell the truth, in this case you would have to bash Ronald Reagan and the two Bushes who actually nominated the judges.

So, why did all of these conservative Republican judges vote not to execute a sadistic creep who raped his own stepdaughter?  There are actually some good legal reasons why the judges didn't want to extend the death penalty to cases in which nobody died:  it opens a pandora's box as to exactly which non-lethal crimes that the death penalty is appropriate for.  At one time in England, they kept extending the death penalty to more and more crimes until they began executing people for petty theft.  It is better to reserve the death penalty for crimes in which a death is involved, so that the penalty doesn't become more and more common for lesser crimes.  Slippery slopes don't make for good justice systems.
