  1. Personally, not really, but that's because I like to serve and hit, and can't because I'm only 5'2. I feel kind of ripped off, like I'm not as good as all the tall people.

The good thing, it takes the pressure off, I, for one, find passing pretty easy. You can get a lot of court time, if you go on for 2 players in a rotation, and you get about 90% of the balls in the back row.

  2. i hate to be a libero because u can't hit unless the setter sets to the backrow you can't surve either!!

  3. I think it is if you don't mind not having the glory of hitting or serving.  Plus when someone spikes one  you get the satisfaction of digging it up and saying in your head, "ha ha:"

  4. There are tons of jobs in this world, but not all people like their jobs, especially those "dirty jobs".

DS or Libero lives up to the expectation to do ALL those dirty jobs. Whenever there is a wild deep shot or tip to the middle, or anything that no one else could reach, you have to be there.

I played middle back at my time, when there was no libero. I remember that once Jim and another guy were up for a block and the opponent tipped over the middle blocker's fingers while I was cruising at the baseline. No other player was ready for that tip as it seemed so impossible, but Jim didn't even have to turn around before yelling "Dan is there for the save"... once you earn the trust from your teammates, you would realize that every position in your team is equally important, and any hard work involved in any "dirty job" is worth your effort.

Now after 20+ years of playing, I still enjoy diving for every impossible, and covering the baseline from corner to corner. I can be easily satisfied by opponents' trying to avoid serving at me or sending tricky shots into corners, or a quick comment after my dive "what, Dan is there??"

So overall speaking I like that position as a libero, and like the fact that you can play the same position almost all the time while others have to run "back and forth/front". Secretly, I thank the world for not creating the position at my time, as I really like to hit when I am in the front row, and I am pretty good in blocking.

  5. Its A good position if you dont want to serve and if you can pass well. Your pretty much the back court captain, you should control were the ball should go. It also depends on your skill and height. Libero should be tiny. I was libero For avsc cup and now im a setter ;)
