Liberty´s Gift favourite for the Father´s Day Racing June 17th Maiden Hurdle
Liberty´s Gift has won the best odds for winning the Father´s Day Racing June 17th Maiden Hurdle at Cork in Ireland on Sunday, April 8, 2012. A cash prize of €6,900 has been set for the winner.
A total of 12 runners were attracted towards the event, which is scheduled to start at 2:05 GMT. The going will be good in the 2 mile race, which will see the following runners in action: Liberty´s Gift, Alghanem, Bulgaden, Call Rog, Discoteca, El
Gran Torino, Green Hornet, Solo Whisper, Khelino, Mazagee, Missie Ella and Peggys Step.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Liberty´s Gift has got the best record in recent times. This is why the bookies have rated him as the favourite to win. The punters will also have faith in his abilities, thus they will be placing the maximum number
of bets in favour of his victory.
The four-year-old gelding has taken part in nine races overall, winning one of them. He started his career nicely, but lost momentum with the passage of time. However, he has started performing decently once again and seems to be full of confidence
right now.
His form over hurdles is also not bad, as he has secured one third place finish out of three attempts in such events.
However, Paul W Flynn’s trainee is expected to break the shackles this time and win his first ever race over hurdles.
Liberty´s Gift will be ridden by M Darcy, who is quite an inexperienced rider, but has the potential of becoming one of the best in the business. He has won a couple of races over hurdles and has got a very good strike rate.
Another runner, who has got a good overall record, is Alghanem. He has entered five races until now, winning none of them. He has not raced over hurdles until now, but has the opportunity to impress one and all tomorrow. He will be under some pressure
though, as his recent form has not been impressive.
Other than the top two favourites, Bulgaden, Call Rog, Discoteca, El Gran Torino, Green Hornet and Solo Whisper can also spring up a surprise in tomorrow’s race, as they are quality runners.
