Lice exposure question

How long after exposure to lice does your head start to itch? I babysat for a family and then 2 days later I got a call saying all the kids got lice from school. Not sure how long it was before they figured it out, though. Right now my head kind of itches in one spot, but I did just wash my hair so it might just be shampoo that didnt rinse all the way out.

  1. Well it would start to itch when the lice start to bite, but if there are only a couple lice on your head at the moment you might not notice they are there until they multiply. Get someone to search your head, especially behind the ears and around your neck. The eggs will be very tiny and look kind of like little sesame seeds stuck to your strands of hair.

  2. I had that same problem when i was younger.. i got it from the kids i babysat. .. and my head started itching a lot, mainly where it starts to itch, and i noticed like, Right away,  i heard was on the back of your head where it starts to itch the most. and thats where i always itched.

  3. you should have your head checked and treat it as if you have it anyway. Wash your hair with lice shampoo and strip your bed, wash all you bedding in HOT water and spray all upholstery in your house with lice killer spray stuff. Also if this was 3 days ago, your whole family's heads should be checked.

  4. Lice is kinda hard to kill theres a special soap called RID. Or ask your nearest drugstore (Generics are cheaper). Not sure on the time frame though.
