OKay, I got a no insurance ticket, so i lost my license for 3 months and they suspended my plates. 3months later i payed to get my license back (paid off the fines etc etc) the only thing i failed to do was reinstate the plates (i wasnt aware at the time that i had to) so i got arrested for driving on suspended plates, so i went to court and payed to reinstate them, and just got a letter in the mail saying the suspended my plates for another 4 months due to driving on suspended plates (ironic, i know) anyways my question is, can i "sale" the car to my dad and have him put plates on it in his name..and insurance..whatever.. and then drive the car??

  1. yes..but if they find out it will be a felony and your  both be off to jail . just pay to plates reinstated.. big brother always finds out .. or a pissed off friend rats you out .. and we all have someone mad at us at some point ...

  2. Answer from a General Insurance Agent

Yes you can sell the car. The new owner just gets his own new plates.

It is not illegal to sell your car.

  3. My guess is no, if its got suspended plates, most likely you wont be able to register it, until the suspended plate sentence is over.  Go buy a super cheap beater car, have your dad register it, and drive that till your suspension is over.
