License Surcharge payment

I have to pay a surcharge to get my license back. I am going to pay it in full online today August 12. I get my license UN suspended on the 18th. It says wait 24-48 hours for the payment to go through but also 5-7 business days to do something unno what that means. So I am asking if I pay it today when I go up there on the 18th of this month will it show that I paid it so i can go ahead and get my license or do I have to wait those 5-7 business days for it to all be gone through?

  1. It depends on the "what" is you haven't completely described. If it means 5-7 days for the payment to clear (you paid by check or some other form of payment that takes longer to clear, than a credit card), then you would have to wait until the 19th, which is only one extra day. I don't know the rules in your state but you can go on-line to your state transportation department and should be able to find out more information there.  Good luck!

That makes sense...What it means is that from the time it posts as paid until the DMV knows it's actually cleared COULD take that long.  It doesn't necessarily mean it will. Your payment processing in 1-2 days is one thing the 5-7 business days would be from the day you paid - not added on to the 1-2 for payment to clear.  I would expect the longer time period, but call at the shorter to see if you are good to go.  Again, good luck!
