Question:

License help me please?!?!?

I'm 18 in october and for some stupid reason my parents havent let me get a permit when i was 15 1/2..so i've already takin a Driver education class and passed the class with proof of passing..now when i turn 18 can i get my license somehow or do i have to get a permit and wait 9 months?? can someone please help me..i live in VA by the way

  1. well in england, i think you go to the post office and ask for a driving license form then send that off if that helps, good luck


  2. Ya, once you are 18 you can get a license w/o your parents consent. You can also legally own a car then. The drivers ed will help reduce your insurance a little, but don't count on it. Also, I am not sure if VA has a period of time that you should keep a permit. You need to read the rules on their dmv web site. I know in IL, they have every rule book publication on their web site. When you do get a permit, you still need a licensed driver to learn from and ride w/ you. Hopefully your parents will do that. But any licensed driver over 18 will do.  

  3. If you are under age 19, you must provide proof of successful completion of a state-approved driver education program and you must hold a learner's permit at least nine months before you can receive a driver's license.

    If you are age 19 or older and you have never held a license issued by any state, U.S. territory or foreign country, you must provide proof of successful completion of a state-approved driver education program or you must have held a learner's permit at least 30 days before taking the road skills test.
