  1. I don't know what you mean by this:

but i put it on my front mirror with no "year # c**p'

In California you are required to have a license plate on both the front and back of your car.

You will not be stopped for not having a front plate, but if you are stopped for something else you will be cited for not having one.

If a cop notices you don't have a front plate, he may find another reason to stop and ticket you, or he may just drive behind you till you get nervous and do something wrong.

California Vehicle Code is at http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/waisga...

    CALIFORNIA CODES

    VEHICLE CODE

    SECTION 5200-5206

5200.  (a) When two license plates are issued by the department for

use upon a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which

they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

       (b) When only one license plate is issued for use upon a vehicle,

it shall be attached to the rear thereof, unless the license plate is

issued for use upon a truck tractor, in which case the license plate

shall be displayed in accordance with Section 4850.5.

5201.  License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the

vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from

swinging, shall be mounted in a position so as to be clearly visible,

and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible.

The rear license plate shall be mounted not less than 12 inches nor

more than 60 inches from the ground, and the front license plate

shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground, except as

  2. yes more then likely you need all that stuff

  3. in the states you only need the back plate i thought

  4. Ca requires that the license plate itself be visible both front and rear.  I would look for a front plate bracket to mount the plate on.  Some cop is, in the words of Buford Pusser in "smokey and the Bandit", gonna bar-b-que your ***!

  5. Should the state of California require license plates on the front and back of a vehicle, you could get a ticket for not having a plate on the front and back of your vehicle.

If, by law, California requires one to display a license plate on the front and back of an automobile, I suggest you follow the law; otherwise, you may be subject to a fine; possibly being arrested.
