Ok i am 16 years old. I am about to begin my driving school. Do i have to get a permit or do i just get my licenses. If i need a permit first is there a law that can give me driving permission to drive from my house to my school with my siblings? This is confusing thanks for your help.

  1. I'm from Texas and you will get your permit first. If you are under the age of 18 you have to have your permit for 6 months. Yes you can aply for a hardship put they have major restrictions. First your parents have to be away at work a long time bfore your school even starts. NO ONE under the age of 21 can be in the car unless you have a 21 year old in the car, and you have to live pretty far away from your school. You might be able to get a hardship if you are the ONLY way you siblings are going to get to school. OH with a hardship you are only allowed to go to school and work.

  2. you have to get your permit and have it 6 months before you can get you license. you had to of finished driving school and your drive times.

  3. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administrat... is the page you want to take a look at.

Even with a hardship license you will need a permit first.

  4. yes you need a permit.

ask your driving instructor about a "hardship" license.  I don't even know if we still have those
