Stephan Lichtsteiner, Juventus right-back, has expressed his wishes to play against Celtic next in the UEFA Champions League
After winning the game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, the Italian club is part of the following seed group, that determines which teams play each other in the round of 16.
Juve are grouped with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-CF-c40864, Celtic and Galatasaray.
The Swiss winger though is hoping for a match against the Scottish club Celtic. The reasoning behind this could be that they are less intimidating than the other clubs. One more victory could boost confidence for the team even
further at which point they would be in a better position to take on the tougher sides.
“They are all wonderful games to go into and complicated opponents,” said Lichtsteiner. “I would like to play Celtic," stated the number 26 to the press.
Lichtsteiner was really proud of the assist that he provided which resulted in the goal. The deciding goal came when his cross to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 was guided in by Olexandr Kucher. The trio was ecstatic after the ball went in
and it could certainly be seen in their celebrations.
“I celebrated by doing the ‘Pinocchio’ gesture of a long nose, as Giovinco said he’d scored when I clearly saw Kucher’s deflection!” said the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 player.
For the Old Lady to win an away match is a great accomplishment, especially against the Ukrainian side who are so unpredictable. The Bianconeri dictated the pace of the match from the start and kept the opposition boxed in their
half.
“I have to praise the team, as we all played a great game. It isn’t easy for anyone to win here, so must be seen as a real achievement.” commented the 28 year old.
The recent failure against AC Milan is fresh in the memories of the outfit, but the past is the past and victories like the one against the reigning champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and now yesterday’s win against Shakhtar Donetsk have down played
earlier disappointments somewhat.
“We found ourselves after an ugly performance against Milan and now we want to continue like this," said a confident http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stephan-Lichtsteiner-c34101.
