Lidjo De Rouge likely to enjoy his time at Ludlow
Good grounds have always been Lidjo De Rouge’s cup of tea. The Richard Hawker trained and owned bay gelding has been in good form for the last four months despite the fact that we see just one victory during this whole period.
The veteran French horse’s last victory came over a good surface. Luckily, he has again signed up for a contest that is set to go over the good track of 3 miles. This is the Amateur Jockeys´ Association Amateur Riders´ Handicap Chase (For The Court of Hill
Challenge Cup) that will take place at Ludlow on Thursday.
A total of 11 runners will compete for the prize money worth £3,120. Relatively, Lidjo De Rouge has higher chances to win this race as almost all of his opposition is slack.
The son of Murmure out of Delijoe has won 5 of his total 76 starts. This is not a good record at all, but the experience he possesses makes him a strong candidate for every event he participates in regardless of the fact he wins or lose.
Lidjo De Rouge delivered some decent performances during the last four months. On June 19, he finished as the runner-up in the At The Races Handicap Chase that took place at Newton Abbot.
He marvellously accomplished 10-length grand victory in the Birmingham Mail Handicap Chase, held at Stratford on July 15. He convincingly beat Old Shyan.
The skilled sprinter finished 4th in the Your Favourite Pool Bets At totepool.com Handicap Chase on July 22. That race was won by Escardo.
The French runner stood 5th in the Sweeep Kuusakoski Handicap Chase that went down at Stratford. He grabbed 6th spot in his last outing on September 25.
In today’s race, Changing Lanes will surely give him a tough time. The David Rees trained bay gelding’s last victory came on February 15 when he beat Dakota Boy to win Free Trial At betangel.com Handicap Hurdle at Southwell.
He stood third in each of his last two races. Thus, he is awash with confidence at the moment. There is likely to be a rip-roaring clash between the two. Good luck to them.
