  1. Stick to the TRUTH ALWAYS

If U must...........prepare well & tell a good one, well - supported by (well prepared) facts/ figures & witnesses if necessary....& U better remember them well for as long as necesary. But don't make it a habit.

  2. Please understand the principle that you can be fired for almost any reason, or even for no reason. The only exceptions are a few legally protected categories: you can't be fired for your race, for example.

So, the real question you need to answer is whether you WILL be fired. If I were your employer, I would be asking myself if your work is good enough to give you another chance. Is it?

  3. Yes you can get fired for lying to your employer about absences.

  4. Yes you can get fired for anything or nothing actually if you are an at will employee like most of us are. So the fact that you lied about your absence (and it will be pretty obvious) will not help. If you get picked for Jury Duty there surely will be documentation, not only that there will be a summons that came to you in the mail.

  5. You will have to prove up your lie, which you cannot do.  I would tell them the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

Yes, you can get fired.  If you lied about this, then they can feel you have lied about other things and not want you as an employee.

  6. Bad choice of lies for several reasons.  Your company might have a policy that allows you to be paid for days you miss if you turn over your juror fee.  You can indeed be fired for lieing about it.  On the other hand, if you just decided to take a day off, you can be fired for that, too.

  7. I would fire you!

  8. I don't know about the particular requirements of your job, but it isn't a good idea to lie about something so easily checked.

I don't know if they can fire you; perhaps they will just discipline you.

Why didn't you simply call in sick?     Just about everyone has done this at one time or another.

    Good luck to you.
