we are in litigation with our contractor over our home. of course it is being drawn out for almost 3 years. the contractor is suing us due to he is an LLC and had no insurance, which we understood through the bank all was in order. We currently have a mechanical lien on our property by the contractor eventhough The state of alabama licensure board investigated and found the contractor incompetent and he was fined. My question can he put a lien on money we have in our current bank account even though this case is not current settled I live in rural alabama and all are in bed together bank, laywer, contractor thanks I didn't know if they could just take our money out of account and freeze it. thanks for your time

  1. No he can only put a lien on your house.  As soon as the judgment goes your way it will be removed.  Be diligent and check that it is done.

I had one and the contractor "Forgot" when we challenged the failure of lien being removed.
