I did some research of Russia and found this as the life expectancy.

Males - 59 Years

Females - 74 Years

Why do women in Russia have a much higher life expectancy than men?

  1. Unfortunately, excessive vodka usage is very common among Russian men.  And alcoholism is rampant.

  2. I'm Russian, so please nobody be offended because I know this is going to sound kind of bad, but it's because men in Russia drink a lot, it's like an every day thing and they work very hard. No offense to Americans either, but Russian men work a lot harder than men in America, therefore, they die sooner.

A real Russian man, has big, strong, and dirty hands while American men are usually neat and try not to get dirty.

Again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone, I didn't mean to.

  3. Because women did not work so hard as men in soviet times...

  4. As of 2007, the average life expectancy in Russia is 61.5 years for males and 73.9 years for females. The average Russian life expectancy of 67.7 years at birth is 10.8 years shorter than the overall figure in the European Union. The biggest factor contributing to this relatively low life expectancy for males is a high mortality rate among working-age males from preventable causes (e.g., alcohol poisoning, stress, smoking, traffic accidents, violent crimes). Mortality among Russian men rose by 60% since 1991, four to five times higher than in Europe. As a result of the large difference in life expectancy between men and women and because of the lasting effect of World War II, where Russia lost more men than any other nation in the world, the gender imbalance remains to this day and there are 0.859 males to every female.
