  1. There's no central database.  If you were beneficiary, then the insurance company would have mailed the check directly to you.

If you are NOT executor of the estate, there's nothing you can do.  If you ARE executor of the estate, you can go back through his old bank records, to see what insurance company he's been paying.

But more than likely, his spouse would be the beneficiary, especially if you aren't a minor.

  2. You could check his bank statements to see if he pay any premiums to any life insurance company. Then you search online to find the phone number to that company. Hopefully their customer service can help you out on what to do next.

  3. Insurance laws are diferent in every state....and there are millions of life insurance companies.

This would be something of a needle in a hay stack....

If your father left a will - it will mention any policies and they are required to pay when the will is read plus interest back to the date your father died. It no will was left - then your father's estate has to go through the courts...and they'll discover that info and later contact you.

Either way - you don't have any recourse to discover this on your own.

    Sorry for your loss.

  4. Did he have a will? You might need to call local insurance companies to check and see if he had a policy. If your father passed away and no one reported the claim to the insurance company, then his policy will just lapse for non-payment.
