i was just wondering what are the type of jobs that you can get with 4 years or so of being an INFANTRY marine. i know there is stuff like law inforcement, police, ect, so in that field do you think they will really like to see the 4 years of service or will it really matter? also is there anyother fields that would hire based on experience on the years of service in infantry?

  1. Your options are pretty open once you've been in the military. The infantry marines that I know are all considering jobs with the government like FBI, CIA etc..

While you are enlisted you can attend school online or at a local college (paying in state tuition) and tuition assistance will cover it up to a certain amount allowing you to get a degree in a field of interest for you so that when you are done in the marine corps you can go directly into a job of your choice.

The bases often have job fairs where PLENTY of big companies will come and discuss job opportunities awaiting you after the corps. Around a year before your time is up start applying for the jobs that interest you. (I believe the jobs must wait till 90 days before your term is up to contact you back.)

Jobs like state troopers become incredibly easy to obtain when you put military experience on your record. The fact that you are physically and mentally prepared for those types of jobs while serving is a big plus on any application.

  2. kfc.. mcdonalds.. burger king

  3. railroads prefer to hire people with military service,no matter what their job was. go to their web sites for hiring info. union pacific, bnsf, canadian pacific, canadian national.  or go to the railroad retirement board web site, they use to have links to railroads that are hiring.

  4. listen... I just EASd 0331 4 yrs, got out E-5...the only marketable skill that i have is military experience, I.E. being in the marine corps for 4 years, infantry has gotten me far enough into state patrol application to be processed too the final phase, but I will not lie, people are not looking for infantry...join the marine corps for today, it will help with tomorrow, but not much...you got me?

  5. Try going private. There's big money there for people with experience. Try looking into being a private bodyguard. They can get loads. Seriously. Only become something like a club bouncer if all else fails (they still get well paid though, mind).

  6. Before you enlist you should ask yourself this question.."what job do you qualify for now?"..its not the infantry MOS that will get you a job it is the fact that you served in the USMC for four years and received an honorable discharge..

The USMC is not in the business of preparing you for a future..Dont enlist into the USMC if you think its gonna hook you up with a job afterwards..In the end its gonna be up to you to get a job and all you will have is 4 years of military service to show for it..
