  1. He really needs to see a vet.

In the meantime, make sure he is not bleeding profusely.

If he is....i cant stress it enough he really needs to see a vet!

If he is not bleeding anymore...he still could use a vet.

But the following may help...until he gets to the vet.

Rinse his injuries off with warm water. Do not use a soap or anything like that.

to stop bleeding- a small amount of styptik powder will stop it.

if you dont have that you can press gauze over his foot and hold it until the bleeding stills. if you dont have gauze use a clean napkin.

Triple antibiotic ointment is safe for small pets...apply this to the affected area. make sure you are getting Triple Antibiotic in the yellow squeeze tube! Other variations of first aid cream may not be safe.

    -----------------------------------

as far as his chest being covered in blood- if this is not the source of an open wound, lightly wipe him with a cloth to help clean him. do not give him a bath! a wet hamster= an easily sick hamster.

The hamster will clean off his own dried blood on his own.

    ---------------------------------

most importantly you should separate him from the other hamster for now. especially if there is blood on him. hamsters have been known to kill other hamsters in the same pen with them, its not something you want to find.

  2. Take him to the vet immediatly!  And on your way back stop at Petco and pick up a Silent Spinner.  The smallest model (good size for robos) is $8.  It is expensive, but will save you another vet bill.  REMEMBER: ALWAYS BUY WHEELS WITH SOLID GROUND!

  3. As long as he doesn't have any major wounds he'll be fine.  My hamster cut her foot a few times and bled from it - but she was always fine.  If he's not limping and seems in good health don't worry - if he is having difficulties take him to the vet.

  4. If its limping or its pretty bad.Or if u can see a bone or anything related to that.take it too a vet.I would take it to a vet even if any of that didnt occur. So what im trying to say is take it to the vet.It doesnt have to be any time soon.Hope i helped! and good luck

  5. I the cut is not major than then yes he will be ok. If he is in pain or limping then call your vet. If everything is fine then don't worry. Just watch his foot make sure it doesn't get infected. (Maybe get him a sand bath and let him roll all the blood off his coat. Just don't bathe him washing him will remove his natural oils and can freeze to death)

  6. he should be fine but if you think his leg is broken then take him to the vet. put another wheel in though just one that can't have hamster feet stuck in it.

  7. The hamster I had a while ago [ I have a new one now] caught her leg on her wheel and I woke up and she was laying there, dead, with what seemed to be a dislocated leg stuck on her stupid wheel. Ever since then, I stopped buying that type of wheel. Since yours is still alive, he should be fine!
