Life in Bogota?How expensive?

Am quite interesting to go to Bogota before the end of this year,Can anybody tell me exactly the cost of living in that City?What is good and what is not acceptable ?Do and Don'ts.Availability of cheap or reasonable hotel/accomodation.Social interactions of native people.Rate of crime etc, etc.

Safer area is up north. Cost of living? Depends on who books your hotel. Can be expensive but you can book around $80 US a night hotels. Best way to go would be hook up with an apartment for a month or so. The higher end restaurants and bars charge $4.00 or so a beer....$10 - 15 or so for a steak meal.

You can find cheaper depending on where you stay and hang out. One block away can make a difference.

Don't accept papers on the street or cigarettes from strangers. They have a drug called scopalamine that can be tranferred by skin or sucking on things.

The city has all types of nightlife and I love it here. It is relatively safe if you use common sense as with any city. Walk around with a lot of jewelry, cameras, and flashing money.....accept the fact you will be robbed...kinda like NYC or DC or Frankfurt or London or any other big city.

Enjoy....the city is the happiest city in the world and I feel safe here.
