Life in Corfu?

How would i need to prepare myself if i wanted to live and study in Corfu or more specifically a place called KERKYRA. I have a friend who has family there and we were wondering what it would be like. Does anyone know?¿ can you give me a detailed answer please.

Firstly Kerkyra IS Corfu (Kerkyra is the Greek word for Corfu)

What would you study there? Can you speak Greek well enough? Island life can be great fun during the summer 'tourist' months but quite boring and lonely during the winter. Depends on what you expect from living there and how well you think you'll fit into the Greek way of life - personally after 20 yrs in Greece I know I could never survive on an island (but that's me!) I need my trips to Athens and elsewhere on the mainland and life throughout winter as well.
