Life in County Derry, Ireland in 1800's?

anyone describe how life would have been there in the 1800's?

    HISTORY – THE BOGSIDE

    has good descriptions of life in the Derry Bogside, scroll through to the 1800s

    Samuel Lewis' Topographical Dictionary written in 1837  "They give a good idea of the history of the area, its geography, and what life was like in pre-famine times around Lough Foyle."

    Click on the links for County Derry and Derry City.

    The third site is a map of where the famine in 1800's impacted most in Ireland.  Because the main crop grown was flax and it had a port, which meant access to imports, Derry escaped with almost no effects at all.
