I'm planning to go to India in a few months to try my luck in the Hindi Cinema (already have one offer). Can any fellow Indians suggest a reasonable place to stay? I'm looking for a clean apartment or condo. Also, since this is my first time visiting India wil it be a problem if I cannot speak Hindi? Unfortunatley, I can understand some but cannot speak Hindi. Thanks RAJA SOHAIB AKHTAR

  1. Well its not that important to learn hindi here in mumbai.

You can manage your work without learning hindi in mumbai unless it is needed in your workplace or as you said you have an acting assignment right with you now, confirm if hindi is important before anything else.

People are very friendly here and supportive, so you will get apartment when you reach here, contact your colleagues here as the estate agents charge a very high amount for arranging a flat for foreigners. If not you may email me and i'll try getting you some help from my friends. A very reasonable place to stay in mumbai would be at a 1 or 2 hr drive away from mumbai (CST) railway station.

Contact me on mail if you have any problems....  i shall try level best to resolve it for you....

Dont be afraid of mumbai...  Mumbai welcomes visitors and serious working people...

  2. hy i guss u r cuming to mumbai thn just forget abt ur budget it too very costly in some good places...if u need a clean apt. just try houses on rent and share..i guess tht will be cheaper..n i guess u will have to learn hindi if u wanna try ur luck in bollywood..n ya even here hindi is the must because many plp dont know english..specially u travel in some vehicle to go to some places or train as places here are too far off u will need hindi to tell them where you wanna go n all n all..n ya in which film did u get the offer?? just inform me...would like to see u in the film..will remeber your name RAJA..[king] anyways wish you luck ...RAJA the upcoming hero of bollywood

  3. learn to speak hindi.... you'll need it...

  4. There are a lot of places to choose from.  You can talk to a local real estate agent in Mumbai or check the local newspaper for apartments.

  5. Raja Sohaib Akhtar, It would be hard to have a career in Hindi cinema without learning Hindi.  Why not try Hollywood if you have the acting skills and can speak American English.  Ashwariya RAi recently did a good job in one of the Hollywood movies....think about it.
