Me and my Mum are buying her right to buy house(with the intention of my partner coming on to the mortgage in 5-7 years as he is bankrupt at the moment and they wont even consider putting him on there) so me and my Mum have to get the morgage in our names for the time being, and then after that time he will come on and she is then happy for her self to come off - she is only doing this to help us btw. But in the mean time we need life insurance. I am only 21 and my life insurance is going to cost about £4 a month. But on the other hand my Mum is 57 and smokes. All the quotes for her are coming up at around £80 + a month, is this going to be typical or are there any better places I am not looking at at the moment? I am at the moment using the search engines i.e confused, moneysupermarket etc. I know I am thinking the same as you guys 2 get her to stop! I am, but I cant see her doing it over night!

  1. 57 and a smoker will get higher rates.  Unless you lye to the insurance companies and pass the tests, expect higher rates.
