I am a very strong swimmer. Im a life guard, on swim team, and I swim on a regular bases. I wouln't wear one in a pool but I would definitly wear one in a lake or on a boat (I do actually because I own a boat). I wear one because lakes are alot deeper thans pools, you can't see the bottom, no lifeguard, and many other reasons. If you in a pool and you pass out and sink to the bottom the lifeguard or someone will help and be able to get to you...your in a lake get tierd or get a cramp and pass out and sink no one can see you, find you, or get to you.

Not to mention its a law for people under 18 to have a life jacket with them on a lake.

Also ecpecially wear a jacket when water skiing or tubing then if you have a bad crash and get seriously injured you don't drown and people can find you and get to you.
