Life of Pakistani players after their upcoming retirements
In an exclusive interview with Pakistan’s aging cricketers, many plans for their future were discussed, exhibiting their secure future after their final bow in the sport of cricket.
According to our correspondent, Younis Khan, has been growing weed in his lawn and now is a happy owner of a huge stockpile.
The middle-order batsman, who is on the verge of retirement, hopes to make good fortune by selling weed on the streets of Mardan as the player has been advised by his former colleague Mohammad Asif of investing in this business.
According to him, Asif would be taking care of operations in England as Khan plans to take his business global.
On the other hand, speaking on his poor form, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in the Asia Cup 2012, where he hammered a superbly played 52-run knock.
The batsman insisted that although there are calls for him to quit, he still feels he can play for a few more years.
Catching http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 off guard in the gym pumping ‘iron’, our correspondent inquired him of his future plans.
Afridi, on a condition of anonymity, revealed that he has no plans to retire anytime soon and although many in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) want to see the end of him, he will leave them disappointed by staying and playing for the country for infinity.
He, however, expressed interest in running for chairman of PCB as he has a big support of fans in and outside Pakistan.
Afridi, while not trying to imitate Imran Khan wants to compete in PCB elections as he feels an “Afridi tsunami” would sweep away the corrupt and incompetent individuals in the cricket board.
On a lighter note, he plans to open a weapons store in downtown Karachi, where according to him; guns from almost every corner of the world would be imported for his countrymen to buy.
He maintained that there would be no compromise on the standard of the guns and he would also hire members of US navy seal team six to train people on how to use different assault rifles.
However, Afridi urged our correspondent to keep the interview a secret and not to publish the information with his name.
Our correspondent then came across former pacer Shoaib Akhtar, who was in the gym staring in the mirrors and flexing his saggy triceps.
He told our correspondent that he had just comeback from shooting a French film made on the current situation in Pakistan, where Akhtar played the role of an ex-con who is hired by the military to throw cannons at terrorists.
Akhtar said that the flick would be released on March 23, on the occasion of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Day. He urged his fans to buy the 20 Rs ticket to watch his movie. According to him, his co-star was none other than Megan Flop, who after failing in the US, is working
on international projects these days.
Megan Flop was, however, was not present to verify or refuse Akhtar’s claims.
Meanwhile, our correspondent finally caught up with skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, doing forearm exercises. On inquiring, the batsman told us that these exercises would “enhance” his ability to stop (tuk) fast deliveries.
On his retirement plans, the batsman revealed that he had already grabbed loans from certain banks to create a private cricket academy, where he would personally coach young players how to “not” hit even a beamer out of the park.
He suggested that players these days hit too many boundaries which is not how the forefathers wanted the game to be played and it takes skill and practice of many years to stop “tuk” a delivery which is right there to be hit out of the boundary.
We can now safely assume that our finest cricket stars have their future well chalked out and require no pension or old age benefits from the PCB.
