  1. We are lucky to see the country, WITHOUT A PASS-PORT, ABOUT  3000 KM X 3000 KM, Keral to Leh , S and W; Kutch to Manipur, W and E, DIFFERENT CULTURES AND LANGUAGES,.... I WAS LUCKY, TRAVELLING, FOR 52 YEARS..., Please see , watch it, enjoy it.......

  2. Its all in mind dear.

In last 25 years I had been to Chennai at least hundread times and its no diferent than any other place in India. Sometime I stayed for a month also. From some point of view its better than Bangalore and Delhi.

  3. Nothing to be afraid of. It's not as if people are racist here. I admit language is a problem sometimes, as many people do not speak Hindi and their English can be difficult to discern, esp. for me who was raised in the USA. But there are enough North Indians here that you will quickly find folks you can socialize with and getting around is not too much trouble. I will caution though that many people complain about the lack of cultural things and diversity in restaurants and nightlife in Chennai. It is pretty conservative compared to almost every other major metro in India, Bangalore included.

  4. Any city is fine as long as you have a good place to stay, friends to hang out with and a support network.

If these three are in place you can make the shift or else it may not seem worth it.

  5. Chennai has changed over the years according to my parents. Now it is metropolitan in the real sense. Language is no longer a problem..... So go ahead take up your new job.

  6. i'm from north india n i was in chennai for the past 3 yrs.. n i loved it!!! as long as u don't hav a prob conversin in english n r a li'l adjustin, chennai's awesome! the weather's real humid, but everything else is great... knowing tamil will be a big help, ofcourse!!!

  7. Really it is a Cosmopolitan city.Talented persons are always warmly welcomed by Chennites unlike Bangalurians

  8. chennai is the most peaceful metropoliton city than others.  the state tamil nadu where chennai is situated is called as peaceful park of india.  compared to banglore the bus and train tickets are very low.  the cost of living is medium when compared to banglore.  you can save more money in chennai than banglore.  there are no riots and disputes in chennai.  moreover many north india peoples have been settled here at paris, sowkarpet, triplicane etc., so no need to worry dear.

  9. chennai is the most peaceful then other metros.it icome at popularity number 3 in india after chandigarh and banglore by people choice. the most culture and peaceful metro in india. yes you do not have the life of banglore here but if a person want to live a simple and peaceful life then it is next to chandigarh. and why you are worry when some 80 lakh people are living in chennai are they not human are they not living their life. there are some 8 to 10 lakh north indians are living in chennai and are they afraid  no my dear you have to change your mind setting . just think that god has given me this place and i have to live . man has to live with the nature and his beauty is where ever he live he has to change with the circumstance and his ability to live.so do come to chennai with out any fear and you are most welcome as in tamil they say we welcome people who comes to live . i am a north indian living in chennai from last 45 years and my 3 generation are there before and my next generation are also going to live here. yes you have to change some of your attitude and club with the local people and see what affection you will get from them better then a north indian . they are so simple and may be some of them harrass you or you may have language problem but nowadays this is not at all any matter as it happen everywhere in india. just think that i have to be here and enjoy my lilfe and just forget what somebody say or do not take anything in mind if so. i hope with this words you will change your attitude towards chennai and if you are really a person who can adjust with the nature then yes you can live in anywhere in the world including chennai.

my best wishes for a new life in chennai .

  10. chennai is certainly better than bangalore, don't think, just move to chennai.

  11. there is nothin like a northy/southy

v r all indians, remember that

    hum hai hindustani

    u shud go 2 chennai

the humidity is good 4 health

bangalore is kool, but not healthy

  12. Chennai is the best place.

  13. Don't bother for being a North Indian.

India is one country and all the states and cities have some thing in common - they cordially accept the people even from outside.

It is you and only you who is to take charge of things - city people in any land do not bother who comes or who goes.

And that is the city specially a 'metropolitan city" like Chennai.

Things matter in your organisation - ask the people in your company - they are best to tell you.

  14. Life in Chennai is not as enthusiastic as in, say Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore; and you could face so many unexpected restrictions there, (as I did when I visited it about 6-7 years back).

Well, even if you wish to go there, it is always better to learn Tamil (in a course of time). This would be helpful to converse with the servants, bus conductors, autowallahs, fruit vendors, shopkeepers etc (because these are the people who neither know English nor Hindi, with some exceptions).
