Lifeguarding?

I took the Ellis & Associates lifeguarding class for a lifeguarding job at a water park and when the park closes I cant use that license anywhere else. Could I just take the recertification test for red cross to get red cross certified, or do i have to take the entire course to get red cross certified so I can work at other facilities.

  1. talk to someone at the red cross but try to take a daylong class that will not take much time

  2. im not sure what the ellis and associates class is but red cross is great. you can use it anywhere.

  3. I'm not sure, and you should probably talk with someone associated with the Red Cross, but I would assume that you'd have to take the course. Sorry!

  4. You can challenge the Red Cross course. A challenge is when you take the written and in-water tests with no prior class. You can only challenge once, so I would recommend buying the Rec Cross Lifeguard manual and study it, there are quite a few differences between Ellis and Red Cross.

If you do not pass the challenge, then you must take the full Red Cross class.
