Lifestyle of Acting?

Ok id like to become an actor. Now say that i did get a degree in theater how would i live before i get an acting job? Is it a proffession that can pay good or am i better off doing something else? Or could i do both acting and another proffesion that could pay me more?

  1. that really depends on your talent and dedication.

    and alot of luck

    there a tons of actors/actresses that you will never hear about in your life

    but go for it if you want it

    but be prepared for anything and some major criticism.

  3. A lot of theatre majors do work as stage managers, riggers, crew spots on shows, etc. in order to make money between shows (or until a job can be found). Otherwise, I'd say pick up a job as a waiter or something of that sort to pay the bills until you start getting good work in theatre. I would say if you really want to get into acting, go for it, don't give up on your dream.
