Lifestyles throughout Australia?

what are the lifestyles in major cities. (i.e. Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Fremantle, Sydney, Perth, and Canberra).

Here are the one's i am experienced with:

Brisbane:

- Hot and more laid back than other major cities

- Friendly people

Melbourne:

- Said to be the culture capital of Australia

- Great shopping, food, music, etc.

- Artsy/creative/cultured

- Safe, clean city

- Big city so lifestyles vary a lot

Sydney:

- Soooo varied!

- Fast paced, busy, and lots to do

- Dirtier than other major cities, beggars/homeless are quite common

- Depending on where you go, you could run into a anyone from a junkie through to a world wide celebrity!

- Many different people from many different cultures live here, including many Europeans, Asians, Indians, Muslims, Africans, etc.

Canberra:

- lots of public servants, office workers, students

- friendly, small town feel

- some view it as 'boring' but its close enough to the mountains and close enough to the beach, not to mention its a very stable city and a great place to bring up a family!

Its hard not to generalize when giving this kind of information and many of the things i have mentioned apply to most Australian cities. Australia is a very open minded, accepting, and multicultural country, and therefore lifestyles vary a lot.
