  2. Checking your blood sugar only takes a minute, then you will know one way or the other.

  3. my first guess would be dehydration, is a common complaint in the summer months.  The human body requires a minimum of two liters of water a day to function efficiently, if you don't then your blood has insufficient volume so when you stand up you haven't the blood pressure you need to feed your brain and you get faint.  suggest you try increasing your water intake and see if you don't improve in a day or two.

  4. Lightheadedness / dizziness can be caused by a number of things, most of them unrelated to diabetes.  The most common cause is change of pressure in the inner ear which can occur with allergies, colds & flu, change in elevation, etc.

Other causes can be changes in your blood pressure ~ as with your mention of getting dizzy when you stand up too fast and it causes your blood pressure to drop.  Are you on any medication for high blood pressure?  If so, your medication may need to be adjusted.  But you did say you are "dizzy constantly", so unless you're on a new medication for high blood pressure that might need adjustment, or have low blood pressure, it is more likely there is another cause.

If you are a type I diabetic, insulin dependent, extreme changes (up or down) in your blood sugar can cause dizziness.

Because this has lasted three days already, it would be a good idea to call Monday and talk to your doctor.

  5. Dehydration or low blood pressure.
