Hi, Ive had my period for almost 2 weeks. Its been pretty light for the most part. Usually my period only last for 2 or 3 days. This is very strange for me. Im thinking abnormal period but my mom is worried that something is wrong with me. She says it could be because im getting too skinny. I'm 23 i have a 1 year old son. After I had gave birth I weighed 150lbs I know weigh 114lbs. Im 5'3 and I personally dont think thats too skinny at all. Any suggestions. Should I go get checked out.

  1. I dont think that your weight has anything to do with it.  Are you on birth control?  Sometimes that can cause abnormal periods.

  2. OK,as you know I am a nurse and know abit about this stuff as I had gynae probs last year. Could you be pregnant? if the answer is yes, then this could be hormonal implantation bleeding. If the answer is definetly not, it is probably hormonal. When did you last have a smear? was this normal? When did you get tested for chlamydia? this can cause a pink discharge, you can get urine test kits at the chemist now for this.

After ruling out the above, it is just a hormone imbalance. Maybe you have a cyst on an ovary like I did last year. It made my cycle to loopy until I have it removed. It caused yellow discharge then pink discharge, heavy bleeding etc. If it is hormonal, agnes castus from the health food shop will sort you out in a jiffy

  3. i am 13. and i dont have that problem but i do know a girl that has the same problem as you and she is 19. i think you should see a doctor. but i dont think its just cause your skinny.

  4. You should go get checked out it could be ur weigh hormones and u should get a smear test dont worry ur young so it wont be anything bad but get it looked at!

  5. If you are too skinny then you wouldn't be having a period at all.  I just got a IUD and have been bleeding like that for 3 weeks.  It's very annoying.  So perhaps your birth control is the reason.  Also sometimes it just tappers off very slowly.  Periods can be unpredictable like that.
